PersisTrends Technology and Recommendations
It is that time of the year where we look back at the past year and await for the New Year to begin. Recently, we have seen a technological upheaval on various fronts. Consider these:
- The global Cloud computing market will grow from a $40.7 billion in 2011 to $241 billion in 2020, according to a Forrester research report. Remaining true to this trend, at Persistent over the past year we have seen more than a 30% increase in Cloud based projects.
- In 2011, 73 million tablets were sold worldwide and the 2012 figure is expected to reach 117 million. In 2012, more than 20% of projects at Persistent had a mobility angle covering Android, iOS platforms while embracing new technologies such as HTML5.
- In development countries like India, mobile based internet access has overtaken the standard desktop internet access as the social sphere continues to explode.
As the quantity of data on the Internet increases at a tremendous rate, finding quality and relevant data is getting harder. The technological possibilities are perplexing to say the least.
